But Wait, There's No More

As a kid, those Ginsu knife commercials fascinated me. Think you're only getting the knife? "But Wait, There's More!" And the guy who wrote those words and many other infomercials, Arthur Schiff, has passed away. Direct Magazine has more. Rest In Peace.

Sorry to hear about Arthur Schiff, but then again, I'd never known his name until now. But I will never forget my favorite line from the Ginsu commercials of my youth: How's that for a clever cleaver? (referring to the meat cleaver with a meat tenderizer on the back).

In terms of advertising, Schiff was clearly an innovator. And, much more entertaining than "HeadOn - Apply Directly to Your Forehead".
