Google Logos At Google Kirklandplex
Back in August, I visited Google's Kirkland office (just outside Seattle), which is home among other things to the Google Webmaster Central team. I've been to the Motherplex in Mountain View many times over the years (both versions 1.0 and 2.0), as well as the old NewYorkPlex 1.0 and LondonPlex 2.0 recently. But I especially liked Kirkland because of the Google logo art on all the walls. Below are some of the shots I took. This one was from what Google used on its site in February 2004, for the birthday of French fractal mathematician Gaston Julia.
For Picasso's birthday, used in 2002. Einstein's birthday, used in 2003. I loved this one as a poster -- used in 2003 for the 50th anniversary of understanding DNA. From when the Summer 2004 Olympic games happened. Another great one wall sized -- for the 100th anniversary of flight in 2003. For Earth Day 2004, plus it works well as reflecting the setting of Kirkland, too. I thought this was the best one for turning into wall art -- from 2002, for Andy Warhol's birthday.
