UK Alien Registration Cards Go Online; I'm Missing

The UK's National Archives have made it possible to search through 1,000 Alien Registration Cards issued from 1876 through 1991 (hat tip, Gary). I've got one of those cards, and old green paper thing I've still held on to after all these years. I had to register as an alien back in 1988, when I first came to the UK.

I checked, and I can't get a match for my card. Apparently, there's only a small percentage of these online. Then again, I'm somewhat pleased it's not there. The National Archives talk about what a wonderful resource this is, how you can see someone's name, date of birth, employment history and so on. Since many of these are old, many of the former holders are likely dead. I'm not! Many others aren't. Seems like they might have restricted these to even older cards.
