Mini E — The Mini Electric — Seeking Beta Testers

When I got my new Mini Clubman, I’d wished there was a hybrid version. In fact, I’d asked the dealer why Mini didn’t have a hybrid. Apparently, the gas mileage is already considered great (in the UK, the diesel gets like 50+ mpg). But apparently, Mini’s still thinking beyond gas. The Mini E — a 100% electric Mini — is looking for beta testers.

Yep, I applied. Hope I get to be one of the 500 people selected from Southern California. New Jersey and New York also get to play. Want in? Go here and leave your email for an application invite in mid-November.

From the field trial site, apparently the Mini E will have a 150 mile range and is having its “world premiere” at the Los Angeles Motor Show this Nov. 19 & 20. It does 0 to 60 in 8.5 seconds.

Looking for a backseat? No can do. That’s where the batteries go!

Thinking of dropping your link spam? Consider this. Seriously, STOP & READ. The guy who runs Google's spam fighting team? I know him pretty well. In fact, it's sort of a joke between us to see what's the latest absurd link drop I can share. So if you want your site to be a poster child on his idiots wall -- and probably to encounter a Google penalty -- go ahead, drop your link. It's nofollow anyway, plus I do have built-in spam fighting and what gets past that usually gets nabbed in a few minutes to a few hours. So you got to ask yourself. Are you feeling lucky?
