I think that people do double-takes at the two vertical monitors, but they get used to it. Usability, baby
The other factor is that the horizontal side-by-side was making my neck hurt. Up-down movements seem to be more natural, but that’s just anecdotal.

You are, of course, so right Brian. I almost mentioned that part — that I might spin the two side widescreens vertically, so I could read more of a long page. I’m concerned the look would be off, however. What’s more important — usability or looks? And yeah — that middle screen gets used much more when I’m staring at Outlook. But to show that, I had to work to you know, check what email was showing and stuff. So I went with a browser shot for now.

First pic–three sites that have big margins–you’ve got the equivalent of one monitor’s worth of wasted space! However it looks like you have optimal mail setup in the middle.

True Nirvana is rotating two 24″ monitors 90 degrees. You can have two large, long windows and save your scrolling finger. Or, you can have 2 x 2 normal sized browser windows.

Nice Danny – thanks for the ideas. About monitor configurations that is. I liked Space 1999 but probably won’t invest in any memorabilia.
