I love Techmeme as my "newspaper" for the web, to show me what the blogosphere is chattering about as a big story. Today, that’s the
Google purchase
of YouTube
. Check out the

Thanks Danny, I think Techmeme is great. I now have it in my first thing in the morning to do list. I just hope it doesn’t evaporate too much of my time. But, I will be informed.

Hey Danny, thanks for the techmeme info. Great resource. I tried to cover it on my blog when it was the topic of the moment. I’ll be sure to check next time. Regarding the GooTube matter, I think this is a great match. Google reminds me of Apple as of late, with the iPod being their cash cow. Since Google wants to be a media company (as Adsense is a better business model to monetize traffic than search alone) it stands to reason that this is just the beginning of their media aquisitions. Next? Perhaps Viacom?

Thinking of dropping your link spam? Consider this. Seriously, STOP & READ. The guy who runs Google's spam fighting team? I know him pretty well. In fact, it's sort of a joke between us to see what's the latest absurd link drop I can share. So if you want your site to be a poster child on his idiots wall -- and probably to encounter a Google penalty -- go ahead, drop your link. It's nofollow anyway, plus I do have built-in spam fighting and what gets past that usually gets nabbed in a few minutes to a few hours. So you got to ask yourself. Are you feeling lucky?
