Why I Blog

Fine, Barry. I’ll play the latest game. So why I blog?
1) Because I actually think about stuff other than search. Sometimes. Like when I can. And it’s nice to write about it. Because, you know, I’m a writer. Or I try.
2) Like Barry, it’s a handy way to keep track of stuff I want to remember later.
3) To help other people. If I’ve figured something out, say with with the computer and some odd problem, I like having content up that might be useful to others. When I finally get a Mac (I’m edging closer), I’ll no longer blog as I’ll no longer have computer problems. Or so I’m told.
4) An occasional rant is good for the soul.
5) You’ve heard me sing. It’s better that energy go into writing.
I tag no one. I’m too tired. If you haven’t been tagged, feel free to immediately declare that I secretly tagged you because you’re so awesome and wonderful.
Nice cat, Matt. If I had a cat, I’d blog more. Maybe someday I’ll post a picture of the dog. I mean our dog. I mean the dog I’m told I secretly love. Wearing a Google collar even. Seriously.

My dog has been sporting a Google collar since last summer… you would be surprised at how many people notice it. Yes, I’m geeky ;)

I’d love to see a picture of your dog. :)

Thinking of dropping your link spam? Consider this. Seriously, STOP & READ. The guy who runs Google's spam fighting team? I know him pretty well. In fact, it's sort of a joke between us to see what's the latest absurd link drop I can share. So if you want your site to be a poster child on his idiots wall -- and probably to encounter a Google penalty -- go ahead, drop your link. It's nofollow anyway, plus I do have built-in spam fighting and what gets past that usually gets nabbed in a few minutes to a few hours. So you got to ask yourself. Are you feeling lucky?
