The town has changed a bit. The tram is gone and now there is a foot bridge, and a toll bridge for cars (locals only). The road to town is much better, they were widening some of the more frightening parts when I was there is past 4th of July. The outhouse sitiuation hasn't improved much, but now the abundance of yellow jackets adds a new dimension to the event. It sounds like you had a pretty good McCarthy experience.
